When we speak to customers and ask what they're looking for, the term "wireless" comes up a lot!
But it's often mis-interpreted, what does it mean when we say our systems are "wireless"?
Installation = Wired
All of our ceiling speaker systems require wiring of some kind.
Whether it's simply powering it from a standard UK plug socket, or wiring out to ceiling speakers.
There are no truly wireless systems for installed audio. Truly wireless would mean batteries, and even then batteries will need charging. Removing a battery powered ceiling speaker daily to re-charge it is not going to be much fun!
So you'll need to allow for some wiring in the installation of your ceiling speaker system.
The system with the least amount of wiring is the Lithe Audio Bluetooth Ceiling Speakers. These simply plug into the mains (single speaker) and if you have a pair you simply wire one speaker cable between the two speakers.
Even the most involved system we offer, the Q Acoustics E120, is still pretty easy to install. There are only a few cables, all of which are included along with detailed instructions.
Listening To Your Music = Wireless
Here's where the wireless term comes into play!
Once you've installed your new ceiling speaker system the practical use of it becomes wireless.
With Bluetooth or WiFi streaming you can simply pair your phone, press play and enjoy your music!
No wiring, no cables plugged into the system.
Just pair your phone or tablet and stream.
So that's what we mean by wireless, you'll still need to install a cable or two, but once that's done you can enjoy your music in freedom!
