Lithe Audio Bluetooth Ceiling Speaker Updates For 2020 - aptX, Bluetooth 5.0

Craig Walker |

The Lithe Audio Bluetooth ceiling speaker has been incredibly popular since it’s launch, gaining lots of traction in the UK and abroad both through retail and wholesale channels.

This has allowed the brand to further improve on the product, offering even better value for money.

Bluetooth 5.0

The most notable update is Bluetooth 5.0!

Normally Bluetooth range is only 8-10m, reduced through walls etc. This has been okay for most applications however those with a slightly larger kitchen or open plan living space could sometimes suffer from drop outs if the music playing device has been taken too far from the master speaker.

The 2020 Lithe Audio model however features Bluetooth 5.0 and upgrades that 8m range to an impressive 30 metres!

aptX Low Latency

Connecting the Lithe Audio speaker to a television is a popular choice but it’s always required a physical cable connection to play properly.

We do still recommend wiring if possible as you’ll get a better, more reliable connection and still leave the Bluetooth free for easy music streaming.

But if you really can’t wire, with the addition of aptX low latency you’ll now be able to wirelessly link the Lithe Audio Bluetooth ceiling speaker to your compatible television.

aptX Low Latency audio delivers sound in sync with what’s on screen, so you can enjoy the freedom of wireless.

It reduces delay and improves end-to-end speed of the audio transmission, resulting in high quality, synchronised sound, so you never miss a beat.

Lithe Audio New Floating Tweeter Design

Stylish New Design

Lithe Audio have really put their stamp on the 2020 model with a stylish updated design to both the front and the back.

The front now features the signature “fins” that were only previously seen on the WiFi model.

The back now features a deep blue casing with embedded Lithe Audio branding.

Whilst all of this is invisible once installed in the ceiling with the low profile magnetic grille, it still shows the quality of the speaker and reminds you that the quality lives up to the RRP.

Re-Naming App

One of the popular features of the Lithe Audio Bluetooth Ceiling speaker has always been the ability to have a custom Bluetooth name. If you buy multiple pairs you’ll know which speaker you’re connecting to on your device, rather than just seeing a few different “Lithe Audio BT” names making it a bit of a game of Russian roulette as to what speaker your music will sing from.

With the previous speaker though this could only be done by the retailer, requiring software and a special tool.

For the 2020 speaker however, there will soon be a new and free app for your smart phone which will allow you to change the Bluetooth name yourself. This means you can add and change names as and when required without needing to ship it back to a retailer to arrange. The app isn’t available just yet, but it will be out in early 2020.

Despite the upgrades the single speaker will remain at the same RRP of £199.99, the pair has a small increase of just £10 bringing it to £279.99 for a pair.
