When to Choose a Single Stereo Speaker

As a rule of thumb, a single unit works best in rooms under around 3 x 3 metres, or anywhere two speakers would sit closer than two metres apart. Positioned centrally in the ceiling, one speaker gives even, balanced coverage across the whole room.

How Single Stereo Speakers Work

Wiring and Powering Your Speaker

Here's the key thing installers often miss: although it's one speaker, it carries separate left and right inputs. It must be wired with a 4-core cable, or two runs of 2-core cable, and never a single 2-core run.

Most models are passive, so they'll need a compatible amplifier to drive them, and each single stereo unit counts as a stereo pair on your amp.
