How To Wire A WiiM Amp To Ceiling Speakers

Wiring Process

• Choose appropriate cable: Use high-quality speaker cable, 16 AWG (1.5mm²) is suitable for most home installations, whilst longer runs might benefit from 14 AWG (2.5mm²) cable.
• Run cables safely: Route speaker cables away from mains electrical wiring to avoid interference. Use cable clips or conduit where cables are exposed, and ensure proper support in ceiling voids. If you treat speaker cable as if it were an electrical cable (for regulations) then you can’t go too far wrong.
• Connect to the WiiM AMP: Strip approximately 10mm of insulation from each wire end. Connect the positive (usually red or marked) wire to the red terminal on your WiiM AMP, and negative (black or unmarked) to the black terminal. Ensure connections are tight and secure. Alternatively you can use banana plugs for a neater connection.
• Wire ceiling speakers: At each ceiling speaker location, connect the corresponding positive and negative wires to the speaker terminals. Maintain consistent polarity throughout, all positive connections should use the same wire colour.
