Q. How Many Speakers Do I Need For My Room?
A. We recommend that you install two speakers per 20-25 sq. metres so for a 5 x 5 metre room we'd recommend one pair and for a 10 x 10 metre room we'd be recommending two pairs.
Q. Can I Have More Than Four Speakers On The E50?
A. No, the system is designed to run a maximum of four speakers (at 8 ohms per speaker). Any more than this will cause the amplifier issues and invalidate the warranty.
Q. Is The Systemline E50 Easy To Install?
A. Yes, it's quite an easy system to install whether you're a competent DIYer or a professional electrician. The amplifier fits in a UK standard 47mm deep double electrical box (dry lining or metal knockout), the speakers wire back to the box and connect into the amplifier. You get a 5M power extension cable included which wires from the amplifier box to a plug socket - this can be in a kitchen cupboard, in the ceiling space etc. As long as it's accessible for future. Then it's plug & play, no programming or setup required.
Q. Can I Paint The Speaker Grilles?
A. Yes. As standard all of our grilles come in white however you can spray them with an aerosol based spray paint (do not use emulsion!) in any colour you like.
Q. Can I Connect The E50 To Amazon Alexa / Google Home?
A. Yes, you can pair the E50 to an Amazon Echo or Google Home smart speaker using Bluetooth then anything that would come out of the smart speaker will play through the ceiling speakers.
Q. Do The Ceiling Speakers Need 230V Power?
A. No. The speakers are powered from the in wall amplifier unit which you wire with 2 core speaker cable (included).
Q. If I Buy The Four Speaker System Can I Switch Off Certain Speakers?
A. Not as standard. This is a stereo single room speaker system and all four speakers will play the same music at the same volume. You can however add an in wall speaker selector switch which gives you the ability to switch between the two pairs.
Q. My TV Only Has A Digital Output. Can I Still Connect My TV To The Systemline E50?
A. Yes, you will run a standard 3.5mm - RCA audio cable from the amplifier to the TV. You will then use a digital to analogue converter in order to make the final connection to the TV.
Q. Do The Ceiling Speakers Need To Have Fire Hoods?
A. The general rule of thumb is that if there is a room above then you should add ceiling speaker fire hoods. This is to maintain the fire rating of your ceiling and slow the spread of a fire, not to protect the speaker. We have a full guide here.
Q. Can The Systemline E50 Play Radio?
A. The E50 does not have a built in radio tuner, you can however easily stream internet radio from your smart phone, tablet or smart speaker device through the ceiling speakers in much better quality.
Q. Can I Install The E50 In My Bathroom?
A. The black version is not IP rated and should not be installed in a bathroom. Systemline do however have a bathroom rated version which you can find by clicking here.
Q. Can I Add A Subwoofer To The E50?
A. No, the E50 does not feature a subwoofer output. Take a look at the Q Acoustics E120 which is the upgraded version and does have a subwoofer output.
