Why we love this at K&B Audio

We think the E1.2 Phono is the simplest way to get started with a proper turntable setup.

Pro-Ject has taken the guesswork out of it, the tonearm arrives pre-adjusted and the cartridge is already fitted, so it's ready to play from the box.

The built-in phono stage means you're not tied to buying a separate one, connect it straight to any amplifier with a line input and you're up and running.

It's a smart, no-fuss choice for anyone building their first vinyl setup.

Description

The Pro-Ject E1.2 Phono is a turntable from the next generation of Pro-Ject's E-Line range, hand-made in Europe to deliver a genuinely great sound experience on a limited budget.

It features a built-in switchable Moving Magnet phono stage, so you can connect straight to a line-level input or still make use of your own external phono stage, making it an ideal entry point into vinyl playback that suits whatever audio equipment you already own.

  • Built-In MM Phono Stage: Connect straight to a line-level input on your amplifier or receiver without needing a separate phono stage.
  • Die-Cast Aluminium Platter: A 730g precision-balanced aluminium platter improves rotational stability and reduces resonance for more accurate, consistent playback.
  • Factory-Fitted Pick it MM E Cartridge: Pro-Ject's own low-mass moving magnet cartridge, with a conical diamond stylus, delivers a warm, detailed sound with low background noise.
  • Pre-Adjusted Precision Tonearm: The tonearm arrives factory-set with tracking force and anti-skating already dialled in, so there's no fiddly setup, just plug in and play.
  • Solid Composite Plinth: The CNC-machined chassis has no hollow spaces inside, keeping unwanted vibration to a minimum, and is finished in a choice of high-gloss black, satin white, or walnut.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a separate phono stage for the E1.2 Phono?

No, the E1.2 Phono has a built-in switchable Moving Magnet phono stage, so it connects straight to a line-level input on your amplifier. If you'd rather use your own external phono stage, you can switch the internal one off and connect via the fixed RCA cables.

Is the Pro-Ject E1.2 Phono difficult to set up?

No, the tonearm arrives factory-adjusted with tracking force already set, so there's no manual calibration needed. Fit the platter, connect the cables, and it's ready to play.

What cartridge is fitted to the E1.2 Phono?

The turntable comes with Pro-Ject's Pick it MM E cartridge factory-installed, a low-mass moving magnet design with a conical diamond stylus. It's built for accurate tracking and a warm, detailed sound straight out of the box.

Can I connect the E1.2 Phono to any amplifier?

Yes, thanks to the built-in switchable MM phono stage, the E1.2 Phono can connect to any line-level input, not just a dedicated phono input. This makes it compatible with amplifiers, receivers, and powered speakers that don't have a built-in phono stage.

What finishes is the E1.2 Phono available in?

The E1.2 Phono is available in a range of finishes, including black gloss, black satin, satin white, white, walnut, and satin colour options such as steel blue, fir green, and golden yellow. The plinth is CNC-machined from a solid composite fibre for a resonance-resistant build.
