Description
Description
Cutting a hole for a ceiling speaker removes part of the fire barrier above your room, and the Monitor Audio CML-FH fire hood is designed to put it back.
It is made for medium and large Creator Series in-ceiling speakers, so one hood covers both sizes across the range.
Fitted behind the speaker before it is installed, the hood sits out of sight in the ceiling void once the job is done.
- One Hood, Two Sizes: Covers both medium and large Creator Series in-ceiling speakers, which keeps ordering simple on projects that mix sizes.
- Fire Protection Reinstated: Helps prevent the speaker aperture from becoming a path for fire and smoke between floors.
- Regulation Ready: Designed to meet the relevant UK and EU building regulation requirements.
- Reduced Sound Transfer: Helps limit how much sound reaches the room above.
- Better Low End: The semi-sealed air volume it forms behind the speaker can contribute to improved bass and dynamics.

Our Thoughts On The Monitor Audio CML-FH Creator Series Medium/Large Ceiling Speaker Fire Hood (Each)
What we like about the CML-FH is that one hood covers both the medium and large Creator Series ceiling speakers, which keeps things simple when a project mixes sizes.
It goes in before the speaker, fixes with the supplied pins and then you never see it again.
You get back the fire protection that cutting the ceiling took away, plus less sound leaking upstairs and a defined air space behind the speaker that can firm up the bass.
For anyone fitting Monitor Audio ceiling speakers in a kitchen or lounge with bedrooms above, it is an easy decision.
