Mission 700 Bookshelf Speakers (Pair)

The Mission 700 standmount speakers bring back one of Britain's most celebrated loudspeaker designs, rebuilt from the ground up using 45 years of Mission's development in driver and cabinet engineering.

Developed as a sister model to the flagship Mission 770 and led by Mission's Director of Acoustic Design, Peter Comeau, the 700 keeps the aesthetic of the original while replacing almost everything behind it.

Form factor stays faithful, with hand-applied real wood veneer and a laminated white front baffle, available in Walnut Pearl and Black Oak.

• Inverted Driver Geometry: The 28 mm treble unit sits below the bass/midrange driver so path lengths are equalised and the sound waves coincide at head height, improving time alignment for a more focused stereo image.
• New Polypropylene Bass Driver: A 165 mm mineral loaded polypropylene cone on a rigid cast chassis with a model-specific motor system and low-density surround, giving tight, fast, energetic bass with low colouration.
• Damped Microfibre Dome Tweeter: A lightweight coated microfibre dome with a specially damped rear chamber, borrowed from the flagship 770, controls resonance for a notably smooth treble.
• Profiled Reflex Port: Shaped inside and out to keep distortion low and push bass extension to below 38 Hz in-room, which is a lot of low end from a 24.8 litre cabinet.
• Sandwich Cabinet Construction: Differing woods bonded by a layer of damping adhesive, internal bracing, and a mix of foam and long hair fibre absorb resonance and internal reflections.
• Artisan Crossover Design: Software-based crossover mapping and simulation combined with thousands of hours of listening tests deliver detail and musicality that supersedes the original 700.
