It takes everything that makes the standard Play so versatile and adds a built-in Hitachi-LG CD-ROM drive, so your discs and your streaming services finally live under one roof.
The CD drive doesn't just play discs directly. It can also rip your CDs to the unit, letting you digitise a collection without buying yet another separate component.
Underneath sits the same accomplished core: an AKM AK4493SEQ 32-bit DAC, a PurePath Ultra HD Class D amplifier rated at 60W per channel into 8 ohms, and a bright 5.5-inch touchscreen driven by the excellent Eversolo Control app.
A vibration-damping chassis and proprietary error correction help the CD section read scratched or ageing discs reliably, while the rest of the unit handles hi-res streaming, vinyl and TV audio with equal confidence.
