Edifier T5 70W 8" Active Subwoofer - Black

The Edifier T5 is a compact 8-inch active subwoofer designed to add greater depth and weight to music, films and games. Its built-in 70W RMS amplifier means no separate amplifier is required, making it an easy upgrade for compatible powered speakers, stereo amplifiers and AV receivers.

Reaching down to 38Hz, the T5 delivers controlled, punchy bass that smaller bookshelf and desktop speakers can struggle to reproduce.

It is best suited to desktop systems and small to medium-sized rooms where you want fuller bass without the size or cost of a larger home cinema subwoofer.

• Powerful 8-Inch Driver: The long-throw 8-inch bass driver and built-in 70W RMS amplifier add useful low-frequency impact while keeping bass controlled and accurate.
• Adjustable Crossover: Set the upper frequency handled by the subwoofer between 50Hz and 150Hz, helping it blend naturally with your existing speakers.
• Independent Volume Control: Adjust the subwoofer level to suit your speakers, room and listening preferences.
• 0°/180° Phase Control: Select the phase setting that produces the strongest and most balanced bass from your listening position.
• Automatic Standby: The T5 enters standby when it does not detect an audio signal, helping to reduce unnecessary power consumption. It automatically wakes when a suitable signal is received.
• Low-Resonance MDF Cabinet: The solid MDF enclosure helps reduce unwanted cabinet vibration for cleaner, more controlled bass.

Compatibility & Connections

The Edifier T5 uses a wired RCA connection and can be added to:

• Powered speakers with a dedicated subwoofer output
• Stereo amplifiers with a subwoofer or pre-out connection
• AV receivers with a subwoofer output
• Compatible audio sources using the T5’s stereo RCA input and output

When using a dedicated mono subwoofer output, connect it to either the left or right RCA input on the T5 using a suitable subwoofer cable. For best results connecting to an LFE subwoofer output we recommend using a Y cable such as this subwoofer cable from Techlink.

If your system does not have a subwoofer output, a compatible line-level source can be connected to the T5 first, with the audio then passed to your powered speakers through its RCA output. Please ensure the connected source has volume control (such as a music streamer or computer).
