The Bluesound POWERNODE EDGE is a compact "just add speakers" wireless streaming amplifier that combines a 2 x 40W DirectDigital amplifier, the full BluOS multi-room platform, and a comprehensive set of inputs into a unit roughly the size of a hardcover book.

Connect a pair of passive speakers, hook up your TV via HDMI eARC, and you have a complete hi-res streaming system ready to go - with no separate streamer, DAC, or preamplifier required.

Its slim profile and included multi-orientation wall-mount bracket mean it can be tucked into a bookshelf, mounted in a cupboard, or installed in a rack - making it as suited to a bedroom or home office as it is to a main living room.

Dual-band Wi-Fi 5, Gigabit Ethernet, and two-way aptX HD Bluetooth 5.0 cover every connection scenario, and AirPlay 2, Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, Qobuz Connect, and Roon Ready give you access to virtually every streaming service via the BluOS app.

It can also be used to power the rear speakers in a Bluesound wireless surround sound system alongside a PULSE CINEMA, PULSE CINEMA MINI, or the flagship POWERNODE.

The POWERNODE EDGE accepts any passive (unpowered) speakers with a minimum impedance of 4 ohm, connected via the two 5-way binding post speaker terminals on the rear panel.

It delivers 40W per channel continuous into 8 ohm loads, with dynamic peaks of 80W into 4 ohm. It works well with a wide range of bookshelf and standmount speakers, and Bluesound position it as an ideal match for compact to medium-sized passive speaker systems.

Does the Bluesound POWERNODE EDGE have a headphone output?

The POWERNODE EDGE does not have a wired headphone jack. Headphone listening is supported via its two-way aptX HD Bluetooth 5.0, which lets you stream audio wirelessly to compatible Bluetooth headphones.

If a wired headphone output is important, the full POWERNODE has a dedicated 6.3mm headphone output powered by THX AAA amplification.

Can the POWERNODE EDGE connect to a TV?

Yes - the POWERNODE EDGE has an HDMI eARC input, allowing it to connect directly to a compatible TV with a single cable and receive audio back through the system.

It also supports Dolby Digital decoding, making it a capable solution for TV audio as well as music. An optical/analogue combo input is also available for secondary sources.

Can the POWERNODE EDGE be used as rear speakers in a surround sound system?

Yes - the POWERNODE EDGE can power a pair of passive speakers as the rear channels in a Bluesound wireless surround sound setup, working alongside a PULSE CINEMA, PULSE CINEMA MINI, or the full POWERNODE.
