The Ruark MR1 Mk3 is a compact desktop speaker system designed for listeners who refuse to compromise on sound quality or aesthetics.

Built on four decades of British hi-fi engineering, the Mk3 brings a significant leap in performance over its award-winning predecessor, delivering deeper bass, a clear lucid midrange, and exceptional high frequency detail from custom 20mm silk dome tweeters.

Versatility is at the heart of the MR1 Mk3.

Whether you're streaming wirelessly via Bluetooth aptX HD, connecting a turntable through the built-in moving magnet phono stage, listening via USB-C audio from a laptop, or routing your TV through the combined optical/analogue input, these speakers adapt to however you like to listen.

Award-Winning Amplification: Class D amplifier technology adopted from Ruark's R410 music system, delivering 2 x 25W nominal output with Adaptive EQ and soft-clip overload protection for clean, controlled sound at any volume.

Is it worth adding the RS1 subwoofer to the MR1 Speakers?

The MR1 Mk3 includes a dedicated mono RCA subwoofer output, allowing you to connect a compatible subwoofer such as the Ruark RS1 for additional bass extension.

The speakers on their own sound great and are very capable for such a small speaker so it is not essential to add the subwoofer, unless you want the best possible sound quality.

Adding the subwoofer extends the lower end and fills in the depth nicely where smaller speakers can tail off.

In short, it's not essential to add the subwoofer at all, but if you do then it makes for a very impressive system, especially for the price point!
