QED QX16/2 - 2 Core Outdoor Speaker Cable - Black - Custom Length

QED QX16/2 is a high-quality two-core speaker cable designed for permanent indoor and outdoor audio installations. Its tough black polyethylene outer jacket is resistant to water and UV exposure, making it suitable for running to outdoor wall speakers, garden speakers and other passive loudspeakers.

The cable uses high-purity stranded copper conductors to help maintain reliable audio performance over longer cable runs. Its red and black inner conductors make it easy to identify positive and negative connections during installation.

Important length information: The selected length is supplied as one continuous, unterminated piece of cable. It is not supplied as a pair of cables and does not include plugs or connectors.

For example, selecting 30m provides one continuous 30m length. If you need equal cables for a left and right speaker, cutting it in half will provide two runs of approximately 15m each. Please measure the complete route to each speaker separately before choosing your length.

Designed for Outdoor Installations

The water and UV-resistant PE outer jacket allows the cable to be installed outdoors without requiring additional conduit in most standard domestic installations. It can also be buried directly, making it suitable for discreet cable runs to speakers positioned around a patio, garden or outdoor entertaining area.

For vulnerable routes, including areas exposed to gardening tools, vehicles, pests or potential accidental damage, we still recommend using suitable protective conduit or armouring.

How Much Cable Do I Need?

This is a two-core cable, so one cable run is required from the amplifier to each passive speaker. Measure the route to the left speaker and the route to the right speaker, then add the two measurements together. We recommend allowing some additional cable at each end for routing, termination and future repositioning.

As an example, if one speaker is 12m from the amplifier and the other is 14m away, you will require at least 26m in total. The 30m option would provide a suitable continuous length that can be cut into the two required runs during installation.
